My first taste of TREC was at a level one pairs competition at Escrick, York in 2004. I competed at level two and three until 2013, and it became my passion!
I began training TREC for riding clubs in 2009, and in 2015 I set up as a freelance coach. My aim is to improve the partnership, trust and confidence that horse and handler have throughout a session.
TREC is a great way to build a strong working partnership with any horse, build your confidence out exploring the countryside and you get to ride in some fantastic places.
I first trained as a BHS TREC judge in 2005 and am now a TREC GB Judge Trainer, Tracer & Technical Delegate. I have organised and scored for many competitions, including setting routes & building PTV courses so I know the sport inside out and have in depth knowledge of the rules.
I have trained and competed on some very different horses, and riding them as well as coaching hundreds of others in my training sessions has given me a variety of tools and approaches for different scenarios.
For your peace of mind I’m insured by SEIB, hold a full first aid at work certificate and a clear DBS check – these can all be seen on request.
