dawnthor3PTV obstacle training – £20pp plus mileage

I build a course of 8-10 obstacles in your arena or field to simulate an adventurous hack. Each rider has a few goes at every obstacle with coaching on how to complete them effectively, the emphasis is on a low-pressure, fun clinic that builds confidence and trust within the partnership, and I usually end each session by putting it all together as a course.

fionaprince 3For more experienced TREC riders, I can change the angles of approach and set difficult combinations of the obstacles to ensure you can demonstrate maximum control, eg low branches to immobility, corridor to rein back or a jump to s-bend. In shared sessions riders learn from watching each other negotiate the obstacles, as well as receiving tailored advice for their horse.

Three phase TREC training day at your venue – £400

Group lessons on the obstacles & control of paces, then in the classroom everyone practices copying a level one route, talk about following landmarks on the map, basic speed checks and using a compass for TREC.  If off-road riding is available, riders then go for a practice ride in pairs with maps. If not, we go for a short walk as a group, practise using a compass & point out all the features on the ground that are on the map.

Non-riding participants are welcome to watch the obstacle sessions and join in with the classroom and orienteering practice. This session can be adapted to most locations.
